| 137052 | 2003-05-10 15:08:00 | To Roofus's question "Why the need for a new case?" I am actually selling my old computer, everything except my cuda hardrive and monitor, I have spare for both of these so am giving the selling as a complete system hence the need for everything really? But yeah I wouldn't have probably needed most things if that wasn't the case, but I have been offered a good price for my old computer so will sell it all! Thanks for the advice though, I may be looking into overclocking in the future, just as something to do for fun, but not until I do my first CPU upgrade as I do not want to damage it without a spare! Cheers! |

| 137053 | 2003-05-10 23:58:00 | With the ASUS E616 DVD. Theyre good, but if u decide to "flash" it dun bother. The flash update on the ASUS site is screwed. Whoever did it, is screwed lol. It wont work, and there is a site, with a lot of people, who have had probs flashing it. And I wouldnt bother emailing ASUS for help/info, coz they never answer! I changed my ASUS DVD for an LG 16x DVD. Since I use the LG 48x16x48 burner, which also supports Mt Rainier (tho Windows doesnt support this). There's something somewhere! |

The only problem is the fan is awful above ~2200rpm (i have mine at minimum speed). It sounds like my old electric drill shortly before it stopped working. > a) Which would be the best price/performance if I was > not considering to overclock untill I have made my > first CPU upgrade, and hence have a spare if I muck > it up! After a quick look at pricespy, I would say a 2400. The 2500 is $70 more, for not much more performance. > b) Which would be the best buy for price and > overclocking capabilities? I think it depends on the batch. Aparantly there are some 1800/2000s around that are very good overclockers. |
