137341	2003-04-20 21:33:00	I have recently downloaded a 101mb file from the Net. When the file got to me, it didn't have an extension. (i.e: didnt have .exe or .zip, etc) I thought it might have been a .rar file. It wasn't. Then I scoured their webpage and I finally had what the filename was supposed to be. It was meant to be .exe The filename was now .rar, so i renamed it to .exe There was also a option under properties to change the program what opens with it. MS-Word was the only one so I selected that. Now the program I downloaded is rar.exe, and opens with Word !! How do I change it so It only runs in .exe ??? Please Help	lmccarthy (3637)
137342	2003-04-20 21:46:00	I may be wrong here, but you may have stuffed the file up by using Word to open it. Why did you just not rename it in Windows explorer? You will need to go to Windows Explorer ---> Tools ---> Folder Options --->File Types and then scroll down the list until you come to .rar.exe. Once you have found it then delete it and hopefully your file should work.	Obelix (752)
137343	2003-04-20 23:37:00	rightclick the file and select rename. delete the .rar part and your done. if word opens it up then i suggest you check your file accocations (look in faq at top of this page). also try another exe. if that dosn't open up with word then its ok. your download my be useing word to display a redme file etc. make sure you have virus scanned it with an uptodate virus scanner.	tweak'e (174)
