| 1335423 | 2013-04-03 23:54:00 | Further to my recent problem of installing Doom 3 BFG Edition, after I successfully installed it, it won't run. A Windows application shuts it down, giving me only the following details: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: Doom3BFG.exe Application Version: 1.0.0.1 Application Timestamp: 509d3191 Fault Module Name: StackHash_2f9e Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Offset: 00000000 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 00000008 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3 Locale ID: 5129 Additional Information 1: 2f9e Additional Information 2: 6bcf14555cfed35a71cf7509ee163570 Additional Information 3: ab3e Additional Information 4: 6d6ab9eb0b48fb21b22016d3ca46e163 I've tried to turn off Data Execution Prevention for the game's executable, but only get as far as receiving the message that DEP has got to be allowed for it to run. I've ensured that my graphics drivers and DirectX are the latest. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and Steam more than once. I've done a full system scan with MSE, Spybot and HijackThis. I've run cCleaner. I've tried to run it in Win XP SP2 mode. I've checked that my lappie meets the minimum specs. I've begged for help on the game specific forum at Steam. Can anyone suggest anything else to try, please? |

| 1335428 | 2013-04-04 06:08:00 | Reposted from the net: If you have any Antivirus's integrated Firewall, disable it. Then, you MUST enable Windows Firewall, because it blocks some unsecure connections that block game from running, and I would also tell you to enable "Don't allow exceptions" button, because I did like this, and it works for me now. I also have tested it if it is true that Windows Firewall solves it and it is true steamcommunity.com |

| 1335430 | 2013-04-05 05:41:00 | Ask whoever made the game. See if any of these work (forums.steampowered.com) Are any of the Visual C++ Redistributable packages installed? |

| 1335432 | 2013-04-07 01:41:00 | entirely possible that its a steam problem. my mate had a game that wouldn't run from steam, but when he did a steam update, worked. also, it could be hating on the video card, for instance arma 3 alpha doesn't like amd cards but works fine with nvidea, cards. that's a physx problem tho, unlikely to be your problem, but possible. | skeptile2 (16539) | ||
