1310162 2012-11-02 23:43:00 Have 2 lots of trades’ people working here at present.

One group switched off the main in the garage, thinking it was the up/down button.

Second tradesman switched the fuse off at the main power board.

Now the door will only close to about a foot off the ground.

How does one re-set the unit?

Thanks for any help.

It would help to know what make but there are probably two buttons to adjust the stop for top and bottom.

1310164 2012-11-03 01:08:00 With our Unit (ATA) there are a set of screws that adjust the up/down distance. Since that's a manual thing unless they have been adjusted there is either a fault or they have been adjusted. If it's a digital thing just try setting the up/down distance again.

Our unit broke down when the said adjusting screws (and their reed switches) became sticky after several years of use. Disassembly and re oiling fixed it.

1310165 2012-11-03 01:50:00 Thanks guys, problem solved. How you may ask! Family came over and we went to show them the prob. and wowww door settled down on the first remote push.

ADS brand.

I had been in and yanked the manual cord down and then switched the garage power off for 5 min and went back inside the house until the family arrived.

1310167 2012-11-03 04:25:00 I often have trouble with my automatic garage door opener, especially in wet weather. Sometimes I really have to kick SWMBO's backside quite hard before she'll get out of the car!!! Paul Ramon (11806)
