1309812 2012-10-31 06:11:00 This has been a strange year, without giving too much away and going down as the local burke from the posting I have made here so far, I would fascinated if you could guess who I am, (please just send me a personnel note) after all I am just a kiwi nobody, but sometimes mud sticks to people you know or briefly knew .

Early this year I rejoined a group I was part of in the 1070's (when I was at school) I passed the exam with good marks to fit in with the members, which nothing strange after all I knew most of it I just needed to do a bit more study, maybe with a bit more study might of got 100%, then I wrote a article for their national magazine and it was rejected, it was very closely related to their membership topic but not close enough to fit in with their magazine, and I could of seen that this article could of done well to inform their member to something worth learning, and help them with the practical aspects of their hobby . Because the article got rejected I took it to close to hart and terminated my free membership I got for passing the exam .

Then I tried to rejoin another club I was part of in the 1990's in fact their membership would suit this forum very well like a glove into a hand (if you get the flow) now it is like a old mans club, they can not even reply to a email, which I think is very strange .

Both clubs have minus growth membership, the first I lost interest in because I see their magazine topics has tunnel vision, My interest is more broadly focused on their hobby but still comes valuable help when they need it, and right now I know one of their dedicated members wants to tap into my knowledge to help their hobby . and if they had of printed my one page article, I would of by now would of been a dedicated and useful member .

On another topic, I wrote to a tutor that gave a one day tutorial on spreadsheets at the local university and asked him "over the years you must of had lots of students on spreadsheets have you considered writing to all your past students and ask them if they would like to take this subject to the next level" he wrote back and said "that class was government subsidized which has now been terminated" by the way I think spreadsheets could be of value to both the clubs and if this was introduce as a one day club introduction would help attracted more member into their groups .

THEN I came here and the first day on my first topic got my back up and slightly disorientated me on the . . . . . . . (never mind) , to the point I just think of myself here as a dribbling twit,

So the big question is, are you part of a group that meets often, and needs more members, in the broad electronics category, who know some other person here might find it of some interest, just suggest the club and the area .

I hope you are not confused by the above, if you are just ask, dont assume, it leads to trouble .

1309815 2012-10-31 06:54:00 You could try looking up hackerspace see if there is one near you. I'm not into any clubs myself can't be bothered with all the politics that go on within them gary67 (56)

1309818 2012-10-31 07:39:00 Rather strange that you post this on this forum and I am surprised that you even understand what a basic spreadsheets course is with such a poor knowledge of English . Unless your first language is not English . As this seems to be a guessing game of some sort on your part, please do us the honour of at least a little clue as to your identity and the actual purpose of your seemingly random musings? Or do you really think that the collective intelligence of PF1 posters is not up to your level of je ne c'est quoi?

1309819 2012-10-31 09:31:00 Maths or proof reading mustn't be a strong point :D

Early this year I rejoined a group I was part of in the 1070's (when I was at school) Rough maths would make 942 years old, shouldn't be to hard to figure out, not to many members that old :p
