1309755 2012-10-30 19:15:00 I was surprised at this www.stuff.co.nz

After flying through China a bit I know that travel there is crazy at the best of times. The aerospace is overcrowded and storms are common (although they use weather as an excuse for all their technical problems). If you leave on a 10AM flight without a doubt the flight will leave no earlier than 10:45, if your flight is after 5PM then you will leave no earlier than 6:30. If for some reason you miss your spot in the takeoff queue there is a good chance your flight will be canceled.

It really isn't like NZ/AUS or even many other asian flight routes, it's a little world of its own is China aerospace. I doubt the chinese chaps on the plane cared at all (other than the fact they might have to pay more) it would have probably been the aussies getting rowdy.

1309756 2012-10-30 20:50:00 We have a chinese lady at work here and all the trains in china have security like the international airports (trains that travel between cities) so check in, bag checks, the works.

I wonder why people travel anywhere anymore, everywhere is soooo busy. Except say an island off samoa.
Sister just came back from Europe, soo many people, hours to wait to go up the Eifel tower. Yuck!
NZ isnt too bad

Bring on Recall i say!

EDIT: Error, im not surprised

1309757 2012-10-31 01:53:00 Yeah, the chinese train stations are HUGE, bigger than wellington airport!! Not quite as tight as an airport, xrays and metal detectors. More like the security before the large scale terrorist attacks. Despite the huge numbers of people their traffic management is great. Several hundred people will board in less than 10 mins and the train is off. Also despite having a few thousand people in the departure lounge it feels free to move (at least in the ones I was on)

Another good thing about chinese fast rail is that all the stations are built to a standard spec so you know your way around them anywhere. Once you leave the main rail system though you are more lost than Apple maps ;)
