| 1310340 | 2012-11-05 03:46:00 | If it's so clean and green why are we paying an ETS tax on it??The ETS was only leveyed on the fossil-fueled generators but...and this is the catch - the hydro pgenerators put up their prices to match the gas and coal burners! Manapouri may have surplus power if the Tiwai point takes less but it's not a straightforward job to get all the power from Manapouri to the rest of the country. It was a wet winter with low clearing prices, so you could hope for lower prices....yeah right! |

Two bills first one is you power used from you retailer the second is the lines componant of your bill, once you have a fixed Lines charge that is set annually and set via the preceeding years peak power usage I bet you really will have something to complain about. You might want to Google The LInes Company to have any understanding of what I am refering to, and you wont like it. |

No difficult to get demand higher than supply ... |
