1309529 2012-10-30 06:15:00 I always come to a complete stop at a Stop sign and wait..... much to the chagrin of other drivers behind me. Well, that is their problem! Hubby got warned once for doing a "rolling stop" at a Stop sign by a cop (who was later convicted of doing the exact same thing) So as it says, you must stop at a Stop sign. Never heard of having to stop for three seconds though? Who determines that?

1309530 2012-10-30 06:37:00 Isn't it meant to be 3 seconds for your indicators?

As for driving around schools, it's got to be one of the worst sites for distracted drivers, especially at the start of each new school year, when a distracted, rushed parent is waving goodbye to their little precious, and pulling out at the same time... without indicating, or checking in their mirror.

Best thing the local primary school ever did was move their main entrance to a side street.
The traffic in the main road now flows better, and the kids are 90% away from the main road, as are their distracted parents!

1309531 2012-10-30 06:43:00 never seen a cyclist come to a complete stop at a stop sign Did I mention cyclist behaviour other than to point out the injury done to a cyclist as a result of an idiot not stopping?I have said it before, cyclists are as bad as any given motorist at obeying the road rules, but there are a hell of a lot more idiot motorists out there than idiot cyclists. johcar (6283)

Just didnt like the fact you point out a car driver that hit your mates, when your mates (cyclists) are the biggest culprits of all road users of said crime plod (107)

And it's your exact attitude is why motorists have such a dislike for cyclists, by your statement you believe cyclists are above the law. plod (107)

You apparently get a lot of exercise from all the jumping to conclusions you do.

Apart from the fact that "my mates" are not all cyclists and all cyclists are not my mates, you are generalising, based on (apparently) a personal belief that motorists don't like cyclists "because they think they are above the law". Both of these are patently untrue - there are many reasons motorists don't like cyclists (and not all motorists dislike cyclists - I'm a motorist, and I like cyclists. When they are not misbehaving.).

Cyclists are NOT above the law.

But when was the last time a cyclist killed or maimed a motorist by 'colliding' with a motor vehicle. I'll lay odds that it has never happened.

But the car I clipped coming the over way was also pretty pissed at the cyclist. I know for future not to swerve but to just collect the cyclist. Lucky for me the only damage was a broken wing mirror and a bit of scraped paint. plod (107)
1309537 2012-10-30 08:03:00 How many cars have been damaged or caused damage while avoiding some lycra loony? R2x1 (4628)
1309538 2012-10-30 08:44:00 I often see cyclists ignore red lights or stop signs at intersections.

One advantage cyclists may have to avoid waiting for a red light to turn green is that they can dismount and wheel their cycle around the corner using the footpath. Try that with a car.
