| 1309792 | 2012-10-31 03:16:00 | I had a bit of trouble with your survey, Johnster :-/ I use four OS's, I use four different antivirus products, two free and two paid. I don't think anyone can really know that their PC has never been infected, so I put "don't know", but I've not had my antivirus find one in the last 5 years - you did say "ever", so maybe that counts ..but it's none of my current computers. I use P2P but don't swap drives (although autorun worms used to be the bane of my existence some years back at work) and I'd say my skills ain't too bad. But your survey design might need a bit of fine-tuning. |

| 1309793 | 2012-10-31 05:08:00 | +1 to multiple operating systems. Where does MSSE fit into the virus categories - it's not a free subscription and it's not a paid sub. It's totally free from MS. You should leave room for comment on such broad-base questions - that would help you to fine-tune for next time you want responses to a survey. Almost every question I was thinking that I wanted more choices, more options, more room to explain why I couldn't simply say YES or NO. | coldot (6847) | ||

I guess as I left this report so late, I rushed it a bit :( I will take the constructive criticism on board, and will ensure I improve on my survey writting skills If I have to do this again. Thanks for the help and feedback - really appreciated. Johnster @Trevor - I am studying at Tai Poutini Polytechnic - Greymouth (as a 40 year old student - I enjoy being back at school :) ) |

| 1309795 | 2012-10-31 21:27:00 | Sorry if I was a downer, Johnster - I like to help people out with this sort of thing, and if I can't give accurate responses I feel as though I'm not helping and they aren't able to draw conclusions that will help them. FWIW, I got a survey from a big-spending professional body this morning with an inability to fill in the "other category" unless I ticked an answer that was incorrect. (ie, I had to tick "I use powerpoint for [something]", before I could write, under "other", "I don't use powerpoint"] Surveys are hard to do well! |
