1309393 2012-10-29 08:21:00 So I have acquired a Galaxy S3 and it looks ok.

My question is does anyone have a cell on Orcon that uses a MicroSim.
The one in my Nokia N8 is too bloody big and I want to know if I can get one supplied through them.

1309395 2012-10-29 09:17:00 Why bother?

Just "trim your Sim" to the right size. For Free.

HERE (www.makeuseof.com)

I'm using the same card now on my Lumia 800 I took from my previous Samsung.

Just done the same. Came across a site which had a template to trim it by and then used callipers to check it. No problems.

1309397 2012-10-29 09:51:00 Hmm Rather get Orcon to supply one than go cutting into it I think. DeSade (984)

It really isn't a problem as long as you are careful.
Forgot to add if you are on account it is free if you stuff up.

How do people usually back copy a Sim so the data can be transferred to another.

I have never really gotten into phones.

That's what gave me the idea - I was reading a blog by Seeby Woodhouse where he deduced he could DIY, and did so. So I figured if it was good enough for the guy that gave us Orcon in the first place, it was OK with me

Just don't keep anything on the SIM. Keep it on your phone and have it sync'd with a PC or online service such as Google Mail / Contacts etc
Means the SIM is essentially a "dumb" device that purely allows your phone to connect to the cellular network and nothing more :)

1309402 2012-10-31 03:20:00 Ok so I wasn't clever like Chill and I have info on the SIM card I need to transfer off.
How would I do this.

I am not tech savy when it comes to phones and this sort of stuff.
