You don't need to profess that you are a Christian (although if you are at the retirement age you were most probably brought up that way) but at least be aware that if it were not for the story (whether you believe it or not) you would not have a four day weekend. So enjoy your time off work and remember that if NZ was not a Christian Country you most probably would not have a four day weekend.:) |

Mind you, all commercials and station promos are louder than the programmes (although the TV stations will deny that) which is one of the reasons why we mute the commercials.:( |

Jesus was crucified at Passover. Thousands of people were crucified in those days, so why single out and celebrate just one. Pagan festivals allowed for dancing, singing, drinking and general merriment, where as christian festivals are all about repentance, abstinence and generally being miserable. I know which I prefer and its not the latter. |
