Or not.

The physics/mechanics are triflingly simple - the clever bit:banana is the artful use of an aviation distraction to hoodwink a lot of the people a lot of the time.

1475685 2021-03-23 02:30:00 What a load of rubbish! Of course it won't take off. Any school child knows that to take off it requires air moving over the wings and that does not happen on a moving runway - obviously the aircraft needs to be moving. On the conveyor belt it's only the wheels that are moving - there is no air movement over the wings.

Only a simpleton would think it would work.:groan:

yeah i watch that. its amazing people don't get it. but i can understand most people are not plane people, but they understand cars and the plane has wheels and drives on a runway.

No I didn't watch it.
Sounds silly.
Any commercial plane would probably demolish a conveyor and not notice it much at all, apart from making it a bit bumpy as it does so.
A small plane, well they go pretty damn fast too, whats top speed on a conveyor?

1475689 2021-03-24 04:17:00 O gawd! Not this one again...
The link in the OP post doesn't work so I can't see the video, but it sounds like the old 'plane on the conveyor belt' again.

If you find yourself in a plane sitting on a conveyor belt, don't worry, it will take off provided the pilot releases the undercarriage brakes and revs up the engines. Those engines don't drive the wheels, they push against the atmosphere. Simple, really. Mind you, the wheel bearings may be shot after all this.
