| 1470482 | 2020-08-05 23:36:00 | Need some advice on activation. I logged into my account to deactivate the old system. It was there, along with the new one & a couple of others. Under manage, "Get support, Get apps & Remove PC" were the only options. I chose remove & it went. Still cant activate new one. Tried changed hardware, didn't help. I can still sacrifice one of the others on the account list if it would help. |

| 1470483 | 2020-08-06 00:31:00 | Have a read of the following; www.windowscentral.com Work though each step. Even though you posted what you did, it only takes missing one step for it not to work. You can also try reentering the Product key, not The Default it uses when activated but the original W7, W8 or W10. If that doesn't work you can try the cmd to force it, scroll down till you get to Fix Windows 10 Activation Errors: They are under that: www.groovypost.com If non of that works, then unless someone else can come up with a solution my suggestion --buy another Licence, OR reinstall from fresh. I cant remember if you have the option when doing a repair install to enter a Product key, been so long since I had to repair W10. All the failures this year have been due to hardware (failing Drives or motherboards). The problem is simple, you cant just change main hardware (motherboard) from a pre activated system, as its totally different. Some don't have problems some do. |

| 1470484 | 2020-08-06 00:49:00 | just adding to above -- Scroll down to under the Advert to Buy the OS, there is a list of possible reasons as to why it wont activate. One that comes to mind from whats mentioned about other activations is : *You can only reactivate so many times. If you reach that (unspecified) limit, you won't be able to activate Windows 10. |

| 1470485 | 2020-08-06 05:23:00 | Got it sorted. When I went through the troubleshooter & selected hardware change, it came up with the one old system I was prepared to sacrifice. So I chose that & it went through. I now remember going own this road once before. I should have logged on & set up the change before dismantling the old system. Then it would have been ready to reactivate the new. |
