Having been told by Vodafone that I couldn’t have Fibre all the way at my new house and had to settle for a mixture of Copper and Fibre I let them proceed. After a hell of the struggle to get even that up and running, plus a couple of weeks without Phone or Internet, I finally got connected. Now wouldn’t you know it, but I get an unsolicited call from Trustpower offering me the world. I quickly explained that I couldn’t have Fibre according to Vodafone and he disagreed. To cut a long story short I told him if he could provide Fibre all the way we had a deal. About a week later a guy turns up and takes a squiz, about a couple of days later two guys turn up and a couple of hours later they were gone. There was a small coil of fibre at the agree entry point but no further sign of their presence. Today a guy by himself turns up and a couple of hours later we are all connected except the phone doesn’t work but the Internet does. Now here’s the rub. Last night I did a speedtest on the old system just for comparison and got this: 10537 And after the installation of the new beaut fibre I get this: 10538 At the old house I wasn’t getting the 100/20 I was paying for, but I was getting 50/20. I am awaiting an explanation, but not holding my breath. :D |
