1470987 2020-08-11 23:32:00 Everyone has told me that wireless broadband is superior than any other internet type apart from high speed cable / fiber. It is more stable and cheaper than using a mobile phone turned to hotspot mode. I was enquiring about this for someone but they had a office nearby with Vodafone (Saturn) cable internet so they just strung a long network cable into the other building and installed an extra wireless access point.

Be careful though, because Skinny Wireless Broadband is cheaper than Vodafone, at that address I was working with, Skinny could not accept more wireless customers as it was over capacity maybe due to covid-19 but Vodafone still had capacity althou the Vodafone customer service isn't so flash ......

I haven't. I'd disagree. I had worse speeds than adsl on the thing.

So it's better than everything, except the majority of connection types?

Who said it was better? The guy trying to sell it to you? . . . .

many people blame wifi issues on the Broadband connection.
a new broadband connection often comes with a new router, new routers often has better wifi performance than their old routers . I perhaps thats why they may think it was better ?

Over at Geekzone .

Some people may not have fiber internet where they live, or they might be renting . . Over since lockdown, we have used done online streaming meetings away from home . So no hard wired fiber connection . As a ad-hoc connection, just a 2Degree's mobile phone on a 4G connection as a hotspot . It worked quite well . Some areas of Wellington ie Newlands got over a 100Mbps connection downstream and upstream was maybe around 50Mbps . We even did some online streaming with audio and video with a video camera .
