When at work, some years back when everyone smoked, we called it "smoko." And what about afternoon tea? What do you call your morning or afternoon break? |

With a coffee pot on every floor, you could drink when you liked and productivity would soar. (almost as high as those flying pigs) Of course, the coffee was crap, so everyone started leaving the building and going to the local coffee shop instead which took twice as long as previously. |

All I wanted was 15minutes to chill , eat my lunch & read the paper The manager would often literally stand over me during my 'lunch break' , reading over my shoulder , pickup up the paper while I was reading it , generally harassing me . So I got fed up with the harrasment & would leave the building and not come back till after my 'lunch break ' . That cost them them more , previously I would go back to work well before the 'lunch break' was over . Ah, the joys of working for small companies . :) |

HD manager hated smoking, but he said to me, karl and the others, take one when you want, don't want staff getting stressed. One day I'd had morning break and Karl kept saying how stressed I looked, I said no I'm good until finally he said he wanted me to come on smoke break with him. Er....I said we do that, it's taking advantage....go yourself, I wasn't going to have 2 breaks straight after each other. Lunch was 1/2 hr, staggered though so some always available for calls. |

This was in addition to their morning, lunch and afternoon breaks . But what about the people who did not smoke? When we asked for a non smoking break we were told no . We thought that was very unfair . :annoyed: And what about the people who were sitting alongside the smokers after they had come back from their smoking break? The smokers stank!:yuck::yuck: |
