1475649 2021-03-22 01:37:00 I have an old no-name water blaster that was given to me years ago, and has finally died.
I'm looking for recommendations for a new one.

It won't get very frequent use, but often enough that I don't want to hire one.
It doesn't need atomic scale power - just enough to clean wooden decks, pathways etc.

Any suggestions? Karcher comes to mind first, but what other brands should I consider? Consumer recommends a Ryobi one which is only available at Bunnings.
All opinions welcome.

TIA

Nilfisk used to be better than Karcher, as it had more metal internal parts (impellers etc)....or was the case when we got ours.

I hadn't thought of Nilfisk - they don't show up anywhere near the top of searches. It occurs to me the other possibility is Husqvarna. They always seem to be pretty good quality.

1475652 2021-03-22 02:17:00 We got our from mitre 10./...but while they have accessories they don't seem to sell the units any more. psycik (12851)
1475653 2021-03-22 02:35:00 I have a K2 - gets used maybe 6 times a year and does what it says on the box.

The more expensive one's have water-cooling, but this might be overkill for your needs.

I did a fair bit of research like I always do when making a substantial purchase, and Karcher reviewed well. Nilfisk seemed OK, but all things being equal I went with the Karcher's yellow and black, much like the Welly rugby team.

Nilfisk.
We had a Karcher (left it with son), now have a Nilfisk. Both good. Ours not the super powerful ones either, but perfectly sufficient for house cleaning.

1475657 2021-03-22 04:02:00 Karcher certainly seems like a safe choice. I am drawn to Husqvarna though, as I have had a Husqvarna weedeater for umpteen years and it has never given me a single problem.
New info: I've just seen an aussie review site that absolutely rubbishes karcher :www.productreview.com.au
I've seen better reviews for Husqvarna on the same site.
