Have a sony LCD circa 2007 not receiving signal through aerial. A newer TV receives fine. TV 1 2 3 etc.

No sky boxes etc involved. Said TV worked fine on sky at previous location.
Has something changed in signals that makes older one non receptive now?
Fix ?

No makey sense.

2007 tv, have a digital tuner? For dvb t (HD Freeview)

You say no sky boxes, then the next sentence, works fine on sky at previous location.

So you’ve moved, and trying to use uhf at a new location? Or trying to use satellite? I can’t tell. 2007 seems early for uhf tv.

If you’ve move location and using aerial, maybe new aerial is slightly out if alignment, and dropped signal too much for tv channels.

1471167 2020-08-15 20:45:00 sorry
Moved location and changing tv to older one. Was using sky but not now. The present location's aerial works fine with the later tv.
Older tv aut- programme doesn't detect any signal.

1471168 2020-08-15 21:09:00 Terrestrial Freeview broadcasting only started in 2008, so I'm guessing your older TV simply can't decode digital (DVB-T). You'll need a Freeview set top box to decode the signal & plug in to AV/HDMI on the TV.

...or get a Chromecast and just use for streaming

Thanks

1471170 2020-08-16 02:39:00 Yeah that’s would be my thinking as well. Newer tv has the dvbt tuner. Older one won’t, it will still be analogue. And so can’t pick anything up as there’s no analog system any more.

Only ways to use it are put a media box in the front for some sort of streaming (Netflix, on demand - which includes live tv now, YouTube etc), get a dvbt box for tv. Or sky.

1471171 2020-08-16 03:17:00 Yep its going in a rental so may end up with a sky box or chromecast. Was just trying to get the basics going. Will wait and see and maybe have to put a freeview box on it.
Thanks for comments
