| 137794 | 2003-04-22 04:06:00 | Hi When you go Tools/Internet Options you have a place where you can change your home page. If you highlight the part after http:// ie the www.abc etc part and press delete a drop down box appears of all the sites you have visited. Where is is this list stored so I can delete it. I know if you press the button Clear History it clears it. But I have a very persitent url that won't clear or delete. I have searched for this url but it must be very well hidden even with show all files on. I can only assume it's attribb's must be set to read only. or is part of another file. If it is part of another file where IE stores it list for the drop down box, where and what is it called. PS I use IE6 & Windows XP Home GeoffW |

| 137795 | 2003-04-22 05:53:00 | And the URL address is ....? This could give us a clue as to how to remove it as it could be related to spyware or adware within your system. If you don't already have software to detect spyware, I would suggest adaware from lavasoft and spybot. Two other places some programs could lurk would be in the start link (start>programs>startup>) or within the msconfig startup menu. adaware can be found here...... www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ spybot can be found here....... http://security.kolla.de/ |
