137711 2003-04-21 19:34:00 Problem, every few minutes on my laptop if I am listening to music or games, whatever, I get a "stutter" or a "pause" in the sound for a split second. Annoying. Other than that sound is working perfect. Started today, havn't installed anything dodgy.

Souncard is Sigma Tel Audio.

137713 2003-04-21 19:37:00 My guess is that some application is sucking processing power away. It would expect it to anti-virus. It is strange that you say you haven't installed anything. Have you restarted the machine?

137715 2003-04-21 19:50:00 Actually yesterday I re-installed MOHAA but I have installed/uninstalled that in the past many times so that can't be it. And yeah I have rebooted.

It is really annoying, a few weeks ago I baught some top quality speakers+woofer to listen to my MP3s with and now they stutter/skip every minute. It is not the speakers, I checked, does same thing with intenal speakers.

137716 2003-04-21 19:51:00 I closed Norton AV and it does the same Mark Veldhuizen (2570)
137717 2003-04-21 21:44:00 Right I have tried lots of things now. I have uninstalled MOHAA, I have tried to get new drivers (But Sigma Tel don't give drivers, they just make the soundcard for Dell laptop MOBOs and stuff) and have run many WinDoctor style programs.

There is one thing I fiddled with, my network settings, while trying to get a crossover connection network with a mate going. I put the settings the way they were, that don't change nothing...

137718 2003-04-21 22:06:00 I don't know if this would work.. but instead of running off battery power, run of your laptop's power adaptor to see is there's any difference.

I don't think it is relevant, but it's worth a shot.
