2003-04-22 11:18:00 | I konw that paradise used to have a page to check if their had been any problems with their service or any maintanance they were going to do. I can't seem to find it. Does it still exist? (I might be blind) | superOman (745) | |

It might be under member section, if you still cant find it e-mail them asking if they had one & if they did where has it gone. |

2003-04-22 12:00:00 | yeah, I'm trying to find one for Clearnet (like ihug's MOTD = www.ihug.co.nz ) | Woof (2402) | |

2003-04-24 01:21:00 | You could always pick up the phone :-) I've found Paradise's helpdesk has become quite responsive of late; no more of this hanging on for half-an-hour....but maybe I've just been lucky. The phone service would be at least as reliable as a "problems page", and probably more up-to-date. Marginally OT, but the one I can't stand is Xtra - my ISP at work. When their DSL service falls over, the victims usually know before they do. They'll typically say "users from Auckland northwards may be experiencing problems", and you phone them and say "Oi! Wellington too!" and they'll say "Oh, OK, thanks for that" and put it on their message in about another half-hour. I find Paradise a bit more switched on - but honestly, I haven't encountered many problems with them - not ones that prove to be their fault, anyway. Argus

2003-04-24 02:23:00 | I have exactly the same experience of Paradise. After they were taken over, the help desk was almost impossible to get hold of, but recently I have called them three times - once for assistance configuring my new adsl router, and twice to check out why I couldn't get access to the net - both times they were Telecom outages and Paradise knew exactly what was going on and the Telecom ETA for a fix. Each call was answered on three or four rings. When I asked them for help with the adsl router, the guy didn't actually solve the issue himself, but just by patiently walking me through the whole config thing, I found the fault with the config myself. As this was a new router to Paradise, he asked a number of intelligent questions about its config so that he could record it for the use of other help desk people. Apparently that is partly how they build up a data base for solving probs. He gave me the impression that he had all the time in the world and wouldn't finish the call until the problem was solved. Not the usual call centre behaviour!
