137606 2003-04-21 12:08:00 hey all,

i am jus curious about some of the smaller players on www.pricespy.co.nz as i do not live in Auckland and I am considering getting some desktop parts in some months time.

some are established businesses and some are 2nd jobs working at home or even students. i seen 1 or 2 at my areas. i did not go in, just drove past their address.

so just some quick questions..
so are they safe to buy from via mail order?? how's warranty?? reclaim taxation?? how do some of them outsource servicing to another company?? is there any delay in receiving products?? guess they don't have a storeroom to store stuffs?? do they source goods in nz or intl?? some of the prices are hard to believe...

Cheers,
R

137607 2003-04-21 12:18:00 Only way to find out is ask 'em.

If buying online remember to check the basics,
"Have they supplied you with a checkable physical address"
"If paying online is the transaction secure"
"If using a credit card online have a special a/c which has limited funds"
"Ask for checkable testimonials"

137608 2003-04-21 13:04:00 There is no answer for what you are asking. It differs for all of the retailers. I see if others have used them before and go from there. -=JM=- (16)
137609 2003-04-21 13:21:00 First thing to do is drop them an e-mail askin them to detail there procedure.

If they dont reply to that then avoid em.

One very prominent and established Auckland based re-seller who i have been dealing with ignored 8 of my e-mails,even when the last one stated i was cancelling the transaction unless they replied.

All i was trying to do was get an update on the order.....hell,it was 2 grands worth.

When i rang them it was all rosy and the order was on the way, arrived exactly as ordered a couple days later.

Still,i had another 7 grands worth of business for them, and they still ignored my e-mails.

I took my business elsewhere.
