| 138274 | 2003-04-24 02:14:00 | Win98SE while viewing my .jpg files something has happened to stop the file having a small preview when highlighted in explorer. I have two computers side by side with exactly the same folder options settings. In one I get a preview now in the other no preview. This happened because I opened a .jpg photo in Ulead Photoimpact. Then all my .jpg files defaulted to opening in this programme when double clicked in explorer. My previous default was IrfanView. In order to restore this default I had to delete Ulead photoimpact from View/Folder Options/File types. IrfanView is now the default programme .jpg files open in but I have lost the small preview! Please any ideas on what has happened? Thanks David |

| 138281 | 2003-04-25 07:53:00 | I started Ulead Photoimpact and opened a jpg file. After that although the IrfanView icon was showing in explorer the jpgs opend in photoimpact but no preview. I then uninstalled photoimpact and lost the Irfanview icon in explorer and the jpg files would not open by double clicking. Subsequently after much fiddling with Folder Options/file types I have got the IrfanView icons back but still no preview. I get a preview with all other graphic types bmp gif etc. ??? | 138282 | 2003-04-25 09:17:00 | Not sure if this is what you want but try this. Right click on any .jpg file and choose 'open with', then 'choose program..'. Select the program you want to open .jpg files and also tick "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". I'm using XP so hopefully the steps outlined are similar. sam m |
