Whats the difference between dvd-r and dvd +r?
Whats the difference between Dvd+rw and dvd-rw

Is there anyway to tell which usb is used by the computer?
My friend has a usb port but Im not sure if its a usb1.1 or a usb 2.0.How can u tell?

It's a standards war. They are both pretty similar, but the technology is slightly different, and data is stored in a different way on each disk. +R and +RW are generally more expensive as they are slightly more advanced than -R and -RW. Both types can be read in any DVD player, but DVD-Roms may read one and not the other (it pays to check).

Right-click "My Computer" and select Properties.
Click the Device Manager tab or the hardware tab then "device manager" button depending on the OS.
Click the (+) sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"

If it says "Enhanced Host Controller" or "USB 2.0 Root Hub Device" it is USB 2.0
If it says "Universal Host Controller" or "Open Host Controller" then it is USB 1.1
