| 138143 | 2003-04-23 09:45:00 | Been there, done that and confused the hell out of me too. It seems that some motherboards won't recognise more than 64Meg per slot with some makes of RAM. I tried 3 different types in the PC before it happily saw the full 128Meg. | Pheonix (280) | ||

| 138145 | 2003-04-23 09:52:00 | Seems like the PC motherboard reads only single sided ram sticks, and you have tried a double sided stick? This does not always mean the chips are on one or two sides, its a matter of the PC board they are on and the way the edge connectors are made. This could explain only seeing 1/2 the memory? |

Apologies to farmdude for hijacking your thread. Can you swap your 128 stick for 2x64 sticks? It will overcome your problem. |

| 138147 | 2003-04-23 11:11:00 | I had the same problem recently. I was trying to upgrade a machine from 64Mb in Slot 0 to one stick of 256Mb. Tried at least 3 types of ram ... all no good. None would 'see' more than 128Mb of the 256Mb. Solution was to use 64Mb sticks in all three slots to get 192Mb. | Rod J (451) | ||
