| 138161 | 2003-05-08 10:52:00 | Thats exactly why I ask :-) I use LMHOSTS to redirect known advertising urls to 127.0.0.1 so I dont have to look at their ads, but Im not sure whether it can be used in the reverse direction. Because this redirection sounds exactly like LMHOSTS, whenever the browser attempts to access an address, it first checks if there is an address in its LMHOSTS file translating the URL to an IP address, and if there is it doesnt bother looking the URL up on DNS tables.
