138114 2003-04-25 22:10:00 I've got xph captive, can you explain to me how efs works (seems a little vague in the 'help and support' area, funnily!)
sounds good though...

138115 2003-04-25 22:13:00 actually, not so much how it works, as that's bound to be over my head! but more how to make it work....

thanks Trev

138117 2003-04-25 22:42:00 EFS is Encrypted File System, and it works with 2K as well.

Can an encrypted folder be used by Windows, and other apps though?

I know that they can be set to invisible and yet still available for use with FProt and Folder Guard!

138119 2003-04-26 04:07:00 Hmm, EFS is no good really for what I need, for example, if I go away from my computer without locking it, then any Joe Bloggs can come along and browse through whatever folders they like, even if they are encrypted. Dak2 (1963)
138120 2003-04-26 05:00:00 that may apply with other methods as well... they may be unencrypted or otherwise.. something to consider. Captive (3159)

Then FProt or Folder Guard are for you, as they can be set to accessible only when you have the main program window open.. just close the app and you're all set again :-)

Can control MANY folders/individual files at once too :-)
