| 138028 | 2003-04-23 03:09:00 | I am having some issues with Powerpoint 2002. Current state of laptop P4 Processor with 512MB Ram 40 GB HDD Windows XP with SP 1 Office XP with SP 1 and SP 2 Windows Updates installed from April 22 Default configuration in terms of permissions and attributes of files and folders. Laptop is part of a network Problem: When opening a powerpoint presentation, a message sometimes appears stating "that the presentation is being modified by "USERNAME". Do you want to open in read only format?" Of course the presentation is not being modified at all by this user. The program may have been opened but it definitely has been closed etc and there should be no messages like this recurring. It seems that the problem occurs when more than one profile access the presentation. The presentations are of varying size. eg from 2MB to 110MB in size. A workaround has been to right click on the presentation, tick readonly and then untick readonly, then click on "apply" and "ok". How can we get this insidious message to disappear altogether? Cheers Darren |
