| 138623 | 2003-04-24 11:41:00 | How do I save Window 98 SE service packs and updates to my hard drive without automatically installing them? I hear support ends soon and I would like to download as many as I can. Thanks in advance. Paul. |

| 138624 | 2003-04-24 13:14:00 | Is this what you are after? HOW TO: Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog (support.microsoft.com) "You can search the Windows Update Catalog to find updates (such as updated system files, service packs, new Windows features, and device drivers) that you can download and install later on one or more Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003-based computers across your home or corporate network. Microsoft recommends that only advanced users and administrators download updates from the Windows Update Catalog." |

For Internet Explorer security updates you only need the latest as that incorporates all previous ones, and it can be saved to file. This question was asked a year or two ago, and Erica who no longer contributes to the Forum wrote some instructions on how to do this very thing. The link to that thread is here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) Sorry I couldnt get rid of the search terms in that link and still make it work :( As support will soon cease it may be a good idea to re-open this discussion and update it. |
