| 138752 | 2003-04-25 02:36:00 | While I am using Word 2000, my computer periodically tries to connect to xtra without me wanting it to. This occurs every few minutes and I have to cancel the dialing. It's annoying and I have no idea why this is happening. I would really appreciate advice on how to stop this. Thanks |

| 138753 | 2003-04-25 03:40:00 | What operating system? Do you have a firewall program that will tell you which program is trying to update through th internet? | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 138754 | 2003-04-25 03:44:00 | this is because some program is trying to access internet for updates or something like that or can be a virus so the first thing i would do is update ur antivirus and then have full system scan if u find a anything go to www.symantec.com and find a way to remove that virus if its not the virus goto internet explorer- tools - internet option and just under the adavanced tab under the browser uncheck " Automatically look for internet explorer updates" if this dosent work goto internet options again and under connection tab check if the connection u use is set to default and choose the first option "Never Dial a Connection" if this doesnt work Try www.google.com and search because this subject has been discussed lots of time, iam sure some forum rather than this one will have a answer |
