| 139015 | 2003-04-26 09:50:00 | In order to save battery power, I've set my computer so that Word will load as soon as Windows 98 stops booting up. Usually this is good, but occasionally I don't want Word to start. Is there a keyboard combination I can use to stop Word from opening? |

I really don't think it would have any significant effect on the battery use of a laptop, if it loaded after by clicking an icon. Its doing all the same operations disk-wise. |

In all reality, the 30 seconds absolute max it could take your PC, most PC's wouldnt even drop a quarter of a percentage, so in reality, its not worth the bother. Turn down the brightness if anything when its on batteries, or set it to turn off the HDD after 3 mins of inactivity instead to save power :-) Cheers Chilling_Silence |
