138999 2003-04-26 08:21:00 How do you make a bat file exit automatically. i can make one do what i want but i can't make it exit by typing

exit
(new line)

Also how do you make links to local and web locations in Visual Basic 6.

Thanks guys

139000 2003-04-26 08:54:00 Do you mean when running the batch within Windows? What version of Windows?

Mike.

139001 2003-04-26 09:37:00 There is a way, but I forget now :) but I remember that neither adding cls or exit will guarantee the batch file window closing.

The other way if you have a shortcut to the file is to go to the shortcut Properties-Program, and tick the box which says close on exit, that will certainly do it as I have two dos shortcuts set to do that ok.

You dont have to make a shortcut, just right click on the batch file, select Properties-Program and check the Close on Exit box, same as for a shortcut.

139003 2003-04-27 03:20:00 Doh? why didn't i think of that?

So what about the visual basic thing guys?

139004 2003-04-27 04:10:00 I'd suggest that you repost the bit about visual basic as the vb gurus may have missed this thread as they thought the post was only about a batch file. ;) -=JM=- (16)
