| 139742 | 2003-04-29 02:16:00 | A customer came to me today with a dead keyboard and mouse. I tested the keyboard and mouse they were fine. I tryed a different keyboard and mouse on her computer they were dead also. I belive the on board PS/2 ports are stuffed. I had another Pc a few weeks ago that had a dead keyboard but the mouse worked fine. A usb Keyboard fixed the problem that time. My question is has anyone encounterd the same problem? I've seen it twice now but can't find any good answers to what causes it and if there is anyway to fix it. Thanks for any help |

| 139743 | 2003-04-29 04:24:00 | Keyboard (5pin DIN) ports "always" used to have a fuse (or a fusible resistor) on the motherboard in the 5V line. I haven't actually looked lately, so I don't know if the modern PS/2 and USB ports have protection. | Graham L (2) | ||
