139585 2003-04-28 06:50:00 I want to go about overclocking my little 266MHz plus my BIOS is over 3 years old. I heard that it might be dangerous to update your BIOS, how would I go about it and also to overclock my CPU plus Video Card. Geekman (3690)

try forums.overclockers.co.nz or more specifically:
forums.overclockers.co.nz

read both faq's, join up and ask away.

139587 2003-04-28 10:43:00 Geekman I hear where you are coming from, but i wonder how much you will achieve with o/c ing. You obviously won't be able to play any more games than you can at present. The actual results of o/c ing will hardly be apparent and you will be putting a strain on an old system.
On the other hand you could OPTIMIZE your system which makes it run faster than some higher spec systems that may be junked up and misconfigured. I have done a fair amount on my 266 and have a very "responsive" machine for most uses.

A really good site to start (given your handle) is:

<home.aol.com

Take it slow and work you way through it carefully,(6months or so).
Incidentally its suprising what you can pick up about you O/S on a site like this.
