| 139539 | 2003-04-29 07:04:00 | Damn!! I took all day yesterday to pluck up enough courage to start this thread and my worst fear about it turning into another brawl had to happen, didn't it? :-( Billy, I have never had to cross swords with you before but I do feel you are being a bit unfair to the guys who have answered my question and provided information that I wanted to know . I am not sure why you have given your subject heading "The Pots that called the Kettle black!" because Agent never posted in That thread, and CC did not criticise Tim for his crime either . How can they be pots calling the kettle black? ?:| I think you are being quite unfair dumping them into the same basket as Tim . Without wishing to sound patronising my associations with CC and Agent have given me the impression that they have a far higher level of maturity and sense of right and wrong than Tim, particularly CC whom you have often taken to task for his views and comments . I am not saying they are perfect and need no guidance, of course, but I do think you might be a little harsh on them this time . In my opinion they are completely different to Tim . Agent, CC and Chill might have played around with stuff like that just to see how it works but I doubt they would be stupid enough to do what Tim did, or worse . As far as this topic is concerned Bruce's usual commonsense attitude echoes my own . I would have liked a little less graphic detail in the explanations purely so as not to arouse the interest of potential experimenters, but as CC said, Google is everyone's best friend if anyone was keen enough . I am grateful they provided their information, it opened my eyes to something I had never thought about . But just because the guys know all about it and how it works does not mean that they indulge in the activity in public or promote it, as you seem to imply . > Flip . . . I didn't know that there was so much animosity between PF1 users . . . but I guess when you feel strongly about something . . . Cannot speak for anyone else, of course, but I have no animosity towards anyone in this thread, and certainly not towards Big Bruvver Billy . :x :-) |

Politicians are great at finding plausible ways to defend the indefensible. I'm closing out on this now as I have work to do but I'll leave you with some sage advice to ponder: When you find yourself in a hole, it is best to stop digging. Cheers Billy 8-{) :| |

| 139543 | 2003-05-02 10:49:00 | Oops :8} Sorry Susan, and my apologies for the late reply, I have been working out of town for several days and couldn't get on-line. (Severe withdrawal symptoms developed.) Your point is well taken and no swords need be crossed. I won't go into acres of self-justification, I will simply say that I take a "big picture" view of nefarious software and similar dubious practices. I did and do believe I saw a double standard in action, hence the pot calling kettles etc. Those keen to find out about it will do so, I just don't think the details should be posted so explicitly on PF1. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

The vocal chords are slightly inflamed and a little pink, that's all, but that is usual for you so no problem there. Hang on, wait a minute... there are some little yellow and blue spots in here though, and they need treating. Throw away those round orange pills with the brown centres that I keep telling you are no good for you and take these nice red and black striped tablets instead. They are very powerful and I guarantee we will have you back to your usual cheerfulness in no time. I can personally vouch for them but if you need testimonials just ask radz, Clueless, Graham L, JM and Godfather. ]:) :D "Welcome back, Billy." :-) |
