139640 2003-04-28 22:52:00 I wasnt online last night when things started to get messy, but had CyberChuck txt me and say it was going down from ICQ :-)

Anyways.. Trying to go this morning and I get timeouts for the main page :(

Are we allowed to know what went wrong this time?

139641 2003-04-29 00:15:00 Are you sure this was a PressF1 fault or a DNS fault?

I would like to find answers to why some sites I could get to and others I couldn't but I'd never get those answers if it was because of a DNS problem, ISP's don't like telling people that their services weren't being provided due to their failure.

139642 2003-04-29 00:23:00 maybe they taking their servers offline to save power...since our requirement now is 10%.... csinclair83 (200)
139643 2003-04-29 01:36:00 Nope - same old same old. There is a problem in the Jive code that's more to do with it processing posts in an illogical way than anything else. I won't give full details because i don't want Mike to experiment and crash the server but to fix it will require re-writing some core code and we have been evaluating how bets to do that. 139645 2003-04-29 02:49:00 Well it wasn't the server that crashed as it was still responding to pings when I couldn't access the page. Wasn't a DNS as it was resolving to the correct IP.

Just the usual ofcourse.
