2003-05-01 05:03:00 | hi I have a P200 - due for upgrading any time soon. 64MB RAM with win95. I have also tried NT4. The monitor is a LG Flatron 795FT PLUS - bought December with 3 yr warranty. Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 4MB PCI card - S3 Virge chip. The problem is after some time it goes blurry - meaning the text next to the icons on the desktop. This happens with win95 and nt4. i have to restart to make it better. If it does come back it can take as little as 5mins after a reboot. Occurence is occasional. I may try it out with my laptop to see if this happens with it too. I have installed the video card drivers as well as the monitor drivers. Nomad

2003-05-01 05:49:00 | Try the "Degauss" function on your monitor. To degauss your monitor you'll have to look up the user manual. On mine you push the [Menu] button below the viewing area and navigate until you find degauss. I dont know what it does exactly what it does but on mine it makes a large "zonk!!!!" noise, it almost sounds like its going to explode. | Dylan (800) | |

2003-05-01 06:19:00 | Yep, a new monitor should behave like a good one. If it doesn't, it's not for you to "fix" it. They shouldn't do that sort of thing until the day after the guarantee expires. :D | Graham L (2) | |
2003-05-01 06:40:00 | that was quick! the monitor went bumped up again... i turn off at the monitor switch for 1-2min then turn back on. the image does not change at all. ms word: looks like if u had a piece of paper with text and u photocopy it and deliberately move it. so u can this movement blurriness. Upon rebooting it fixed it. What do I do - take back?? I hope print screen works then i email my vendor. Nomad

2003-05-01 23:57:00 | It may be an intermittent fault, I'd just keep an eye on it and see if it creeps back in again. Whilst it is in warranty you dont have much to worry about. Make a note if things go wrong and come right again, so that you could if necessary demonstrate it is an intermittent. | Terry Porritt (14) | |

2003-05-02 04:51:00 | Judging by the age of your computer you may not want to have the resolution very high. Maybe 800x600 or even 640x480. Also you should only run 16bit colour. If it works on your laptop but not on your p200 then its most likely the VGA. See if you can experiment with another video card.
