140915 2003-05-02 18:18:00 I'm amased fdisk won't remove the partition for you.

Lets have much more detail. What exactly are you telling fdisk to do? What exactly does it do in responce to this?

140916 2003-05-02 21:16:00 Did you remove the logical drive from the second partition before you tried to remove the partition itself?

Tell us more about what you hope to achieve by this.

140917 2003-05-02 21:20:00 You do realise that you're going to lose the data on BOTH partitions...do you...

You first have to remove the Logical drives in the Extended partition, then delete the Extended partition... perhaps you formatted with NTFS and its a Non-DOS partition?

Check the FAQ on Partitioning :-)

Cheers

140918 2003-05-02 23:46:00 when i try to delete logical drive it says
no logical drive defined
all logical drived deleted in the extended dos partition

but when i go to delete extended dos partition it says
cannot delete extended dos partition while logical drives exist
the drives are partition type volume mbytes system usage
1 pri dos flamer 4129 fat32 68%
2 ext dos 2000 32%

and when i try to delete extended it says
cannot delete extended dos partition while logical drives exist

and i have tried doing these round the other way
comes up with same

140919 2003-05-03 00:30:00 Try telling it to delete 'Non-DOS Partition' :-)

Then delete the Extended partition :-)
