| 140765 | 2003-05-02 08:46:00 | Hi My system has decided not to operate. I press the power switch and nothing at all happens. This happened a few weeks ago and I took it to my local computer shop. Later that day I picked up and they said that it had worked the first time they pressed the power button. The system then ran for 2 weeks without any problems. It has stayed in the same place since I bought it home, i.e. not been moved for any reason. The system runs a 1ghz AMD chip, 384mg ram, geforce 2 - 64meg ram graphics card. I have never had problems in the 2 years I have owned it. Any ideas on what could cause the problem. thanks Kredo |

Check the power point with a fan or something to see if that is the problem. If it isn't, then try replacing the actual cord that delivers the power to the PC. | wintertide (1306)
| 140767 | 2003-05-02 09:38:00 | Try physically unplugging the cable from the power supply and then plug it back in again - sometimes I've had to do that to get systems to start. (ATX systems) | segfault (655) | ||

When it started, all rails were OK. And when it wouldn't start, there was still 5V to start rail. Must have just got a little too lumpy from dried Capacitors. | Pheonix (280)
