140645 2003-05-01 21:38:00 Hi,
I used to have a dual boot between redhat 8 and windows ME using GRUB.
Last night i freshly installed windows XP inplace of ME.
Now my GRUB bootloader is gone and i have no boot disk.
How do i restore my computer to dual booting?
thanks

That would be my guess, no idea otherwise.

140647 2003-05-01 23:12:00 You will need to boot your RH CD. There may be a repair mode ... if you can get a "#" prompt, you should be able to reinstall grub.

You might find it's easiest to "upgrade" (to the same version) RedHat.

140648 2003-05-01 23:18:00 If you remember the boot section of your hard disk then you can use the RH CD to do this.

I think you type linux boot=/dev/hd?? whatever the hard drive was. I forgotten how to but I'm sure you can do it that way. I'm positive there is a how to for it, using the CD to boot to an already installed RH.

Is WinXP formatted in NTFS, I've never used GRUB before but I don't know if you could boot XP from it? I'm just guessing here though I don't actually know.
