2003-05-02 11:10:00 | Which is the worst operating system & which is the best. 1:Win95 2:Win98 3:WinMe 4:Win2000 5:WinXp 6:WinXp pro. I have heard a lot of quirky things about WinMe but then Win95 didn't natively support usb.

2003-05-02 11:47:00 | Seems a fairly pointless discussion - best or worst for what? | JohnD (509) | |
2003-05-02 11:51:00 | > Seems a fairly pointless discussion - best or worst > for what? I agree! Each has its own strengths and weaknesses in different situations... I wouldnt wanna run WinXP on a 486.. No, I'd go with Win95.. but I wouldnt want Win95 on a server would I? No.. I'd go with Win2K server, or perhaps .Net Server :-)

2003-05-02 12:01:00 | Well I recon ME is a stable as fruit of his pills, from at least what I have heard from people in my circles. But then from what I have read xp has big brother syndrome.

2003-05-02 12:02:00 | Best for me was MSDos 6.22. Installs using three floppy disks. No blue screens of death. Each application goes in its own directory. Don't try and and run FlightSim Pro 2002 under it though. My choice at the moment is WinXP Pro and that's what I use. Hardware these days is an AMD 2400+, 2 60 Gig Seagate drives etc. Let's see MSDOS even recognise a 60 Gig drive. :-) Horses for courses I say.

2003-05-02 12:11:00 | Hi guys Just observations . Sometimes being pointless especially at the end of the week has its point . From my point of view it is, which OS gave me the most grief . Re win95 I should qualify that by saying that I was even more incompetent at dealing with OS's and things geek than I am now ;) But even the action of finding and applying the patches and upgrades taught me something, PF1 would have been priceless to me back then . Cheers Murray P
