2003-05-01 10:01:00 | Using XP pro. After a reformat of the HD I can't get the Mic to record anything, it appears to be muted or not installed somehow. It worked OK before and will work in another computer, but nothing I do will make it work in mine. Anyone any ideas?....Ron..

2003-05-01 10:13:00 | Go settings=control panel-sounds and audio devices , Choose Voice TAB and make sure the correct device is there for Mic. While there, oick the Volume TAB and hit the Advanced button. Then go to Options-Properties and make sure your Mic box is ticked.

2003-05-01 10:17:00 | *click the Volume TAB* If you find mic box hasn't been ticked and you tick it, you will notice that it adds the level control, make sure you untick the Mute box.

You need to "Select" the mic box in the "record control" box, if you wish to record from any source. It can be very confusing, & if you wish more information, post back here.. |

2003-05-02 00:30:00 | Many thanks to Pheonix and Bazza for the replies to my Mic problem, but unfortunately we haven't fixed the problem. Under "voice" you suggest make sure the correct device is there for Mic, which correct device?, mine has default device is "Via Audio (wave). Also in the Volume tab there is no Mic box. Have unticked any Mute boxes and ticked all the Mic boxes i could find and still no luck. Select is also ticked in the Mic box of "record control".. Would appreciate any further suggestions...Regards Ron.

2003-05-02 01:35:00 | Don't know if I am way off the mark here, but in the Volume Control dialogue box go to Options > Properties and make sure the Microphone boxes are ticked in the Playback, Recording and Other options. | Susan B (19) | |

2003-05-04 06:13:00 | OK, If you go to the ADVANCED TAB as I described, and you get that row of volume sliders, go off the top menu Options and see if the Advanced name has a tick by it. If not click on it and then see if you have a microphone box to tick. You will have to scroll down the list as it is near the bottom. | Pheonix (280) | |
2003-05-04 06:15:00 | Oh and that device is fine. It indicates that you have "onboard" sound is all. | Pheonix (280) | |
2003-05-05 00:40:00 | Thanks pheonix for your patience. The Advanced Tab has a tick by it, also the Mic box is ticked. Where select is required I have ticked that, no ticks in any Mute tabs and all in all it should work but it doesn't. Have just about given up...Ron..
