| 1336963 | 2013-04-14 09:09:00 | I started my computer today & it gets as far as the Windows logo & then the monitor goes to sleep & I can't see anything anymore. I've managed to start it in safe mode, & safe mode with networking. I've tried rolling it back to an earlier state using Windows Restore, but to no avail. The problem persists. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit. Two things happened yesterday that might have caused this problem. I installed a new Razer DeathAdder mouse, & Windows installed an update when I switched the computer off last night. Can anybody help me with this? |

I followed some advice I was given on the MS Community site & decided to try to uninstall the updates as you suggested & then I saw that the most recently installed software updates on my PC were NVIDIA drivers, so I decided to try rolling back my graphics driver in device manager. Fortunately this did the trick. In case anyone is interested I have an NVidia GTX 460, & the drivers in question were Nvidia update 1.11.3 & Nvidia graphics driver 306.97, & Nvidia 3D Vision 306.97. Phew! |
