1336966 2013-04-14 08:19:00 I was happily doing one does here on the net, when I lost connection.

I saw the PPP light was out, this is the second time it has occurred.

After much pressing of buttons it stared up again.

Is it the router or what?

I now know what it feels like to be emasculated.

1336967 2013-04-14 10:44:00 PPP going out means it lost authentication which would suggest the connection dropped. Call your ISP and see if they can see frequent re-connections, if so it's probably the router. I remember a while back my awesome RTA1320 was dropping out about 30 times a day :) WarNox (8772)

Alternatively, check and see how warm the router is. Some drop their PPP connection when it overheats and have trouble re-initiating it.

I switched unit on this morn, the ppp light would not come on, again after much prodding it has started.
Obviously the thing is cold and still malfunctioned.

1336970 2013-04-14 22:11:00 What's the make and model? I wonder if you've got some line condition issues with the cabling to your home which may be causing some transmission errors? Chilling_Silence (9)

1336972 2013-04-14 22:56:00 I'd be inclined to start looking in to cabling issues.

Curious though, why power it off overnight?

I don't usually power off at night, but with excitement yesterday, I thought it might like a rest.

Why not power it off overnight when it's not in used?
