1336341 2013-04-10 12:12:00 Hi Team

I was doing some housekeeping and came across 'NCH Software Suite' in my programs list. I did not recall installing it, and I certainly didn't want it so I went to 'Add-Remove Programs' to get rid of it, but it wasn't listed there. A quick web search brought up similar complaints and the advice to go to each of the individual program folders and use their uninstall function.

That is all well and good, but there was only one uninstall function in a one subfolder, and all it seemed to do was uninstall itself.

My inclination now is to simply delete the files from the program list but I suspect that this might cause me more problems.

Has anybody else come across these, and have you found a safe way to get rid of them?

Cheers

1336342 2013-04-10 20:49:00 Try revo uninstaller NCH software has a lot of audio related programs.

Could be recorders burning software, editors etc. Its really a PITA -- even if you install it and tell it not to put in all the "extra's" it does it anyway and all of a sudden you have programs that appear you had no idea what they are.

You may have to look at their site and see if anything look s familiar to the programs installed so you can actually find them to remove http://www.nchsoftware.com/

1336343 2013-04-10 20:51:00 Hi Billy ... Try Revo Unistaller - www.revouninstaller.com - it may show it. Don't think just deleting the files will be any good ... won't get rid of the registry entries and "leftovers. SP8's (9836)

1336345 2013-04-10 21:11:00 My NCH folder in Program Files contains 3 subfolders for progs
I installed and use: Debut Video Capture, Video Pad Editor and
Express Burn, all of which show as installed in Win7 'Programs
and Features'. If you have any NCH progs installed, they will be
in the NCH 'mother' folder in Program Files but you wont find NCH
listed in 'installed programs'. Many installed programs are put in a
folder bearing the software company name. This is common practice.
So, look in the folder in Program Files and see if it contains anything
you wish to preserve before deleting.

1336346 2013-04-11 11:14:00 I finally managed to clean it out OK thanks, I found one more uninstaller hidden in a sub-directory and then I just deleted everything that was left in Program Files and that seemed to be the end of it.

Thanks for the advice and reassurance, my usual concern is that I will fix it worse!

Cheers
