2013-04-09 23:06:00 | There must be something seriously wrong with their system. Another new round of hacked yahoo/xtra a/c's , spitting out spam/links to a dodgy web address(now taken down I believe) Just a heads up, dont open those xtra.co.nz emails coming in, from email addresses you know. At least be careful.

2013-04-09 23:23:00 | Could you please elaborate a little further? What's the threat? If don't open any email from addresses you know, might as well don't use it at all!

2013-04-09 23:50:00 | The threat is extra, and most email coming from extra probably isn't worth reading anyway  | The Error Guy (14052) | |
2013-04-09 23:51:00 | Note that spoofing email addresses doesn't require hacking an account (doesn't even require that account to even exist in the first place) and there is little to nothing the service provider can do about it, short of hoping they don't get targeted too often (but the big ones always do, that's how successful spoofs get through spam filters). If you want to avoid it then, well, don't use email.

2013-04-10 02:07:00 | even more worrying. I know there help desk had been receiving many calls yesterday , but.... "Telecom only recognised the problem hours after media contacted the company yesterday afternoon" "Spokeswoman Lucy Fullarton maintained last night that it was only aware of "tens" of customers being affected, but said this morning it appeared that up to 1000 accounts had been hijacked to send out spam. " So deny, deny , deny & only admit the issue when you have no choice. Not that they have a recent history of this so it couldnt possibly happen again. No need for the 'helpdesk' to contact the head techs/management if it looks like its happening again.
