1335930 2013-04-08 08:57:00 Every time I go to back up my Thunderbird it is a bit of a drama

Profiles
Addresses
Messages

I always have to refer to my notes and up date them.

And just about every tutorial I see on the web is a bit lacking in detail.

I have often see people recommend the Mozback Utility.

Has anyone used it (and successfully restored from it) or copied to another machine etc.

(As an aside I really wish that Mozilla would make a built in utility to the whole job in one step)

I have tried to suggest this to them, but their support is so hard to get though to.

I had a quick look at the blurb.
It seems to backup the emails

Does it backup the profiles and address lists?

(And has anyone used Mozback?)

1335933 2013-04-08 23:56:00 Have been using Thunderbird for a short time and use Mozbackup ,says when saving that it backs up the address book

Have not had the opportunity to do a restore yet though

1335935 2013-04-09 10:11:00 Just make a copy of the profile folder. (*gobbldegook*.default or such)
Job done.

To restore it or move it to another PC (or OS) drop it in the profiles folder and update profiles.ini to point to it.

1335936 2013-04-09 14:27:00 I used it to backup, and then restore to a new PC recently. Worked fine. Renegade (16270)

1335938 2013-04-09 22:08:00 I used it to backup, and then restore to a new PC recently. Worked fine.

I installed Mozback last night and backed up my Thunderbird and My Firefox
It took a while and created two big files
So I suppose its working.

Now I just need to test the restore !
