| 1311007 | 2012-11-07 06:39:00 | No.1 son has just dumped Windows 8 off his 2 month old gaming computer from the Computer Lounge. He paid for a update option when he bought his new mchine and was quite chuffed with it till he put on win 8 on the OS's release date. His opinion..."what a crock of shite"!! - he said an OS should be transparent but Win 8 certainly isn't Anyone else feel the same? Ken |

| 1311008 | 2012-11-07 08:21:00 | Nope, had several people make the exact opposite comments. The desktop is basically Windows 7, so whats the problem ? Generally I find people that make comments along the lines don't actually know where things are, so get all negative about it. When ever I've upgraded Peoples W7 or Vista to Windows 8 I give them a 15 -30 minute rundown on where things are and how they work and get them to do certain things that they would normally do. Just yesterday I installed a Fresh W8 in a persons PC, taking to him today and he said its actually easier after I showed him ways of doing things. Personally I jump between windows 7 and 8 several times a day, its no big deal, not now that its all setup, and actually find W8 faster. |

Too bad my screen res is too low - snap doesn't support 1280x800, and I don't think theres a hack out for it yet :( |

If its going to be a new PC, then more than likely will be the straight W8, not the pro unless they want media center at some stage or its in a place that requires the features of Pro.. To our resident obdjectivist Wouldn't say that - just calling it as I see it. So far out of all the upgrades only had one person go no big deal ho-hum. No one else seems to have any problems working out where things are. |
