142018 2003-05-07 04:14:00 hello...

I seen at school(win 2000) that people can send short messages to other users thru the network, (Kinda like instant messages, except that you can not reply to the sender).

I was wondering, can I set that up in a LAN of 3 pc's? 1 running winxp pro and 2 running win2000? if yes, how can i do that??

thanks :)

142021 2003-05-07 04:39:00 I made a thread a while back, search for:
Chilling_Silently and the thread was called something like "Net Send Spam"

Has lots of interesting other things you can do with Net Send etc. :-)

Cheers

142022 2003-05-07 04:56:00 if you want to look at something a bit more intuitive and permanent, try a program like lanchat or windows communicator.. win2k comes with something similar built in called winchat but its not that great whetu (237)

142025 2003-05-07 06:20:00 I've used a program called "Message Popup" on a LAN in a school. Works ok with Win95/98, not sure if it will work with XP. It's better than windows inbuilt message popup, but isn't a chat window like MSN.
Best of all it's freeware.
Give it a try.
