2003-05-07 03:23:00 | Ditto here too Chris, mine checks for updates at 7.46 am each morning if the comp is on at that time as it usually is. Why 7.46am I cant remember, I just leave it at that. | Terry Porritt (14) | |

It only runs if the computer is running at the specified time (7:30pm), on the specific day . In the two years I've been running AVG it would seem I've never met both conditions . I was hoping someone had found a more reliable way to schedule updates . |

2003-05-07 04:20:00 | Well Ive set my scheduler to update if the data base is older than 2 days, and to repeat in 1 day. That gives a pretty frequent schedule, and the time in the morning is usually just after when I fire up and check email and things whilst my porridge is cooling down :) | Terry Porritt (14) | |
2003-05-07 05:18:00 | You could get your computer to wake up at the appropriate time, since you, unlike Terry, haven't got punctual porridge . But 7 . 30 pm would be a late breakfast . :D

2003-05-07 05:31:00 | I manually download the updated virus defs for AVG as I only use this AV as a backup app,but like to keep it up to date! I always know when Grisoft is updating as I have a little app that notifies me when Grisoft makes a change on their Web-page! I am currently using the AV app"AVAST4.0" (Awil Trade)which can only be updated manually, with the client notifying it's users as updates are released.Usually every 2/3 days! I usually alert PressF1 users when updates are available from Grisoft as they can be a little irregular .(unlike Nortons, who update their files every Wednesday!) Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)
